It's funny. They say you'll always end up where you're meant to be, and I would never have imagined I'd be where I am today back when I was walking across the stage to get my diploma in high school. I had dreams of going into medicine, but deeply desired to do photography. It had always been a passion, but one I thought could never bring me a solid and stable career. I set out on a journey in college to find what moves me, to find what brings me true happiness. I ended up flip-flopping between four different degrees, landed a job at a hospital, and yet at the end of the day, all I wanted was to find the beauty in life - not only in what surrounded me, but in others. I would melt every time I heard proposal stories, and adored the special little details that filled the wedding days. In 2011, a friend saw me struggling to figure out the right path in life, and simply dared me to take a chance over one summer between semesters. "Just be a photographer," she said. I had absolutely NO faith in this ever going anywhere, but something happened... All the missing pieces I could feel within my soul were found that summer as clients came into my life with encouragement. After only two months, I realized that old saying was true. I bought my first DSLR, started up my business, and never looked back.
As business grew in both North Carolina and Virginia, I knew it was time to take a leap of faith... and I quit my job at the hospital. My love for medicine still runs strongly through my veins, so you can catch me watching House, Nurse Jackie, and Untold Stories of the ER while editing! And also Modern Family, Jane the Virgin, and How to Get Away with Murder. No judgement zone here, k? Like many, I needed a fluffy companion by my side, and this sweet and sassy little Westie is named Molly. She has become pretty popular around here with other vendors, and is known to welcome clients with endless hugs and kisses! You can find my little copilot heading to snag some coffee and puppuccinos, helping me choose which Kate Spade purses to buy, and snuggling during Harry Potter marathons ;)
Being around all this love and sweetness, I wondered when I'd find my Prince Charming. I had tried (and failed miserably) at online dating, and then a friend literally threw me into a blind date, which is something I swore I'd never do. I was so nervous, and didn't really think about what I was doing, and ordered a giant salad. #SpinachInTeethForDays #HAWT... I put this man through it ALL. I wanted to have no doubts about it that he was a good one, and he put up with all my shenanigans, and even saved me from a technical disaster (don't ever ask me to do coding FYI - I may end up deleting my own website a few times). And that was when I knew he was the one. My knight in shining armor, coming to my rescue while also bringing me cheesecake. Oh, Chad! He's a winner, you guys. And he's my rock that is always there, and always supporting me in this dream. Even better? He welcomed my random rescue of a pup with completely open arms... The only stipulation is that this dog needed a nerdy name. So we now have both Molly and this gigantic complete goofball of curly blonde fur named Chewie.
