Courtney and Tyler’s First Look | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

I LOVE First Looks. Like, they are honestly my favorite part of a wedding day for those couples that decide to do these! For those unsure of what a first look is, let me explain. On the wedding day, the bride and groom spend all morning getting ready and looking their best. Rather than seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle – with the pressure of all the wedding guests watching – some couples are now choosing to take a moment to share privately before the wedding ceremony to see each other for the first time. Emotions always seem to be more open instead of tucked away because NOBODY is around to put any stress or pressure on the bride or groom. It’s pure joy. Raw emotions. Nothing held back. And it’s not a split second before the ceremony starts, it’s more like twenty minutes shared to love on each other, to hold each other, to just take in all of what that day is about – the bride and the groom. Nothing more, nothing less. Just them.

The pros of having a First Look: If you opt for a first look, we immediately go into bride and groom portraits and knock those out, and follow it up with bridal party portraits. This means that after the ceremony ends, the only thing left to do is Family Formals before everyone is off to get the party started. It truly is a great option for all that are willing to do this, and I have never had anyone regret seeing each other in private over seeing each other for the first time going down the aisle.

I mean, just look at these two and try not to smile. You can’t.
