This is the time of year where everyone falls in love with fall! The leaves turn beautiful shades of reds, oranges, and yellows, fall flavors start becoming the popular trend, and there’s just a happiness that everyone feels for this season. For this styled shoot, we wanted to embrace the fall by showcasing some elements, such as cotton, caramel apple cake pops (or cruffles as they are called), having natural settings such as the wood rounds and stones along with the rustic wooden tables and chairs, and of course some beautiful pods and mini pine cones within the peach accented bouquet.
Behind the scenes:
On Monday afternoon, my sister and I went cotton field scouting. We found the most perfect one, and she asked if we could do photos there. Obviously my mind went straight to wedding stuff, and I happen to have a wedding dress on hand at all times for these kinds of moments, so I said heck yes! Turns out she wanted senior photos though… womp womp.
So on Tuesday, I had a meeting with Chelish about an upcoming event, and around 3pm, I mentioned casually how I was going to try to persuade my sister into jumping in the wedding dress in the field. Chelish immediately brought me down to her work area, and whipped up a GORGEOUS bouquet for me to use! At 3:42pm, Kim informed me she’d just gotten a dress in that would fit my sister that I could use instead of the one I always have…. And Susan let me borrow several invitation suites to photograph…. And Mandie confirmed at 4:20pm that I could use one of her cakes as well. What was going to just be something casual was suddenly transformed into a full blown styled session -all within 1 hour and 20 minutes. Insane. When I got home, I began going through the items I have on hand for times like these, and threw together some things I thought may work for the look we were going for.
Wednesday. I had collected all the items needed, arrived at Il Bella at around 3pm, was finished hauling and setting up by 3:20, and started shooting. Guess what time we finished up? 4:20 on the dot. It just makes me laugh that we pulled all vendors together within an hour and 20 minutes, and also set everything up AND photographed it in the exact same amount of time. But I say all this to prove a point that if you set your mind to it, you can do it. I know it’s a lame saying, but it’s so true. It also helps to have fabulous vendors that are absolutely wonderful to work with! So without further adieu, I’d like to present our “Fall In Love” styled session featuring these vendors:
