Boudoir

In such a competitive world, it’s easy for us to get caught up in the comparing game. Lately I’ve been finding myself quite guilty of that, and then the other day I read a quote that smashed me down…
“Don’t compare your beginning to someone’s middle.”
Whoa. Alright, I hear you. It made me realize that I need to stop comparing myself in a negative light, and instead focus on my successes. My dad also reminded me of this when he made a comment about how far I’ve come since I first started even attempting to use a professional camera or book any session only two and a half years ago. I’ve grown to have a solid client base, I tripled my weddings in my second year booking, have met my first goal of booking weddings for this upcoming year, and now I begin my new venture…
Boudoir was one of the first sessions I ever did when I was trying to get everything together at the very beginning of planning to start my business. I honestly had no real clue as to what I was doing, and went into the session with just a few poses in mind to work around. I was TERRIFIED. I – the photographer – was scared, so I can’t imagine how my client felt haha. As the session continued, we both loosened up and ended up having a great time (and laughed nonstop)! I never thought I’d enjoy that type of photography because of the misconception behind it. It was incredible to make others feel so empowered, accepted, beautiful, and worthy – things the media tells us we shouldn’t be. After that first session, I began studying up on it and learning all I could. I did some online courses and workshops about how to pose different ages/sizes/shapes, how to flow through poses, and then began studying edits to see the best way to do that – which I’ve found I’m more drawn to natural edits accenting the colors of the images. As I began picking up more and more clients across the business, I began feeling the need to separate my wedding and lifestyle work from boudoir. I didn’t want people simply wanting to see my family photos to be subjected to beautiful images of girls baring all if they weren’t wanting to see that, and by having them in different locations provides a little bit more security that relatives of my clients won’t stumble upon the images. When our boudoir weekend started up, I had several girls express a little concern that their parents or a family member may come across it, and that was the point that I realized this change needed to happen. So, I’d like to now introduce you to not only www.boudoir.caseyhphotos.com, but also www.facebook.com/chpboudoir 🙂

Boudoir images will now be displayed in an elegant and classy fashion on the site, I am going to be getting different links together, such as FAQs, what to wear, etc. If you’ve ever had a boudoir session with me, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could write me a testimonial on your experience for me to display 🙂 Here’s to good things, good changes, and a great 2014!
