Hennie and Joey’s Spring Charlotte Engagement | Charlotte NC

These two and I go way back – like 2007 way back. We met at Harris Teeter when I transferred there after starting courses at UNCC. In all honesty, it was one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had, but that’s where having best friends comes in. I may not have enjoyed that job, but I seriously made some of the best lifelong friends there. We are all vastly different from one another, but we all have a sense of community and love towards each other. Hennie and I transferred around the same time, and quickly became great friends. Joey also worked there, and it was a well known fact he was totally crushing on Hennie. In fact, let’s go back to like second or third grade- these two were in the SAME school, and one day Joey passed Hennie a note that was the typical “check yes or no”. It may not have worked out then, but boy did it work out this go round 🙂
These two have LOVE, guys. Unconditional. Undying. Sweet. Hilarious. Raw. LOVE. When Joey knew it was time, he’d had a conversation about me possibly photographing the proposal… except Hennie being sneaky definitely read his texts so that plan was killed, and he knew she’d never suspect him proposing in Chicago when I couldn’t be there. Now, let me just tell you about my love for Chicago. Last year I decided to take a very random trip up there to stay with some friends. Everyone mentioned pizza and other typical Chicago must-haves, so I expected that this Chicago boy would treat Hennie to some traditional Chicago must-haves too…. WRONG. This dude definitely took her out to eat at like Panda Express. Seriously. I had to give him a good talkin’ to, but then I heard the rest of the proposal story, about how he wanted to do this out at the ferris wheel except it was closed, and how he poured his heart out while getting on one knee, how she contacted all of her family to let them know even though they totally knew it was going to happen…. And I realized she will obviously be returning to Chicago in the future regardless so he has time to redeem himself from Americanized Chinese fast-food.

After photos at her parents’ house, we decided to celebrate their new journey together in their brand new house! Absolutely gorgeous 🙂 You didn’t really think I’d miss this opportunity to share this beauty, did you, Joey?
Congratulations, you two! I am beyond excited for everything you guys have going for you, and can’t wait to celebrate you guys becoming the new Mr. and Mrs. Bondi this fall!
