Because I care | Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer

Right now there are tons of newly engaged couples out there looking for the perfect wedding photographer. They are scouring the websites, looking through the galleries, trying to figure out budgets, and narrowing down their choices of what they like and don’t like. A friend and bride of mine was talking to me about competition. “What do YOU think makes you different?” she asked… “I have no clue.” Best answer, I know. And then she pointed out exactly what I had never realized were good qualities that set me apart from other photographers. And sometimes you just need to know or hear it from someone. I never know how to answer questions about myself because I worry too much about sounding conceited, which is definitely NOT who I am. I’m that girl that has a hard time accepting a compliment.  It was incredibly hard for me when I was starting out and someone would compliment a photo I took. I would always find a way to say what I could have done better.
“That’s because you care!”
“Well, yea. I do care. Doesn’t everyone?”
“No!”
“Oh yea right,” I was thinking…
“You look at your work, and you think about how to become better at your profession. You take the time to serve your clients. You strive to provide a 5 star review worthy experience to every bride, and when you don’t get that, it hurts you – because you CARE. A LOT.”
She was right. Growing up, I was taught that we should treat others the way we want to be treated, and my love language is giving. To show my brides I care about them, I give. I pray. I love. I communicate. I find common ground. I cater to their needs using my knowledge and skill set. I strive to always become better – not for me, but for them. I find their love story by getting to know them for who they are, and expressing that in how I have them interact in front of my camera. I capture their true moments of beauty, compassion, and grace. I don’t put them in stiff poses – I put them in situations where they will laugh together, embrace each other, kiss each other the way they’ve always dreamed of kissing, I give them the sweet moments they desire. I give them the experience I want out of my own relationship by providing those opportunities to be together and focus on each other rather than having to worry about everything else in life. For the moments my couples are with me, their focus is strictly each other. It’s a break from all the distractions in life. It’s a time to be together and alone – even in a crowd of a thousand people. As I’ve built my career, I have added in sweet touches here and there to truly express my gratitude I feel for my clients. This will never change – because I care. My experience is one I want to leave them with that they can’t forget, and why? Because I want that experience to be them – to define their relationship and showcase their raw moments in a natural and romantic way. After all, it’s all about them, their love, and their commitment to be together. It’s what I capture, and it’s what I do.
