Unique Charlotte Wedding Cake by Sky’s the Limit Bridal Sweets

filed in

The beauty everyone waits for is usually to see the bride in her wedding dress, but one trend that has been up and coming is the trend to have a unique wedding cake – something nobody else has ever had or seen. Ines of Sky’s the Limit Bridal Sweets is a vendor I absolutely LOVE working with because she brings this to the table – literally.

The first time I ever worked with her, I was absolutely stunned! Her take on a Grecian theme was completely breathtaking, and I just couldn’t believe I had the opportunity to photograph it! I love the greenery added in, the folded edible sash, and the little details added in.

The next session we had together was for a Harlem Renaissance session. The first part was taken in a vintage 1920’s room of the Piedmont Renaissance Center. Ines did a pink and purple cake with gold detailing and flowers.

I gave her the color palette that I had, and then watched this artist create one of the most beautiful cake I’d ever seen. A rose pink watercolor cake, topped with an edible pearl coating, and handmade edible flowers falling across the cake.

With 2015, colors are going darker, more royal! Check out this blue wedding cake (perfect for a bride’s something blue 😉 )

And when I began creating a winter themed session with plum shades, this masterpiece was made. A purple wedding cake with gold writing of the poem ‘I carry your heart with me’ by EE Cummings, and topped with a spray of florals and ribbon to add to the wintry feel of the session.

THIS. My goodness. It’s stunning. Who needs a wedding cake topper when you can have this? This wedding cake doesn’t even look real, but it definitely is!

This cake features the 2015 Pantone color of the year – Marsala. It was the perfect edition to our theme for New Years with the pink and gold flowers that have a flare as if they were fireworks!

They make your wedding, and bring the theme of your day to life. As a bride, don’t be afraid to try new things, to think outside of the box, to dream of a wedding cake unlike any other!
