Life as a Maid of Honor – Part 4 – Cake!

filed in

I figured this would be my favorite part of my Maid of Honor job, and oh it has been! If you know me, you know I always tend to dress up because. Yea. That’s me. Christina knew this, and figured she wouldn’t inform me there was apparently a dress code where we were going, and it happened to be laundry day sooooo I failed at dressing the part. But whatever. Cake.

J Todd Taylor grew up with Christina’s mom, so naturally they wanted to meet with him. The moment I met this guy, I knew he’d be an instant favorite vendor! He had the best personality, and made us feel so welcomed! We walked into this room with a platter containing four types of cake and another containing a million types of frosting and filling. Christina was set on red velvet, but we all convinced her to at least try some other combinations. I don’t want to go into too much detail here as to give away some special parts of her day, but just know that one tier of that cake will be MINE. I’ve called dibs. I even cleaned out the container. It was the best cake ever.

Sooo now things that I wish I’d known or thought of prior to. I hadn’t eaten yet that day, and didn’t think it through that we’d be eating cake. Sugar. Lots. Of. Sugar. When we left, I was NOT feeling well because I had eaten a good amount of that cake (I mean…. why not?), so we made a pit stop to get chicken nuggets and some diet coke on the way back home. I would suggest that anyone doing a cake tasting, be sure to bring some crackers, and eat beforehand! Other than that, enjoy!

And because this blog is about cake, I figured I’d post some of  my favorites with Ines from Sky’s the Limit Bridal Sweets from our sessions together, but will be sure to share Mr. Taylor’s cake after the wedding 😉
