Ashlee’s Bridals | Charlotte NC Wedding Photography

Everything happens for a reason. I kept that in mind as Ashlee and I sat in a hotel room in Charleston with two of her good friends sipping some wine and listening to the rain fall outside. Nonstop. We had traveled down to this beautiful and historic town for her bridals only to have a massive storm hit for the 2 days we were down there. We couldn’t even go out because the roads were all flooded. Insane. She suggested that when we got back home to do the portraits at her parents’ house… And WOW. Meant to be! You see, this home is the same home Ashlee has spent her life in. Unlike Charleston, everything had meaning to it here. Ashlee and I grew up together, and she was one of the first friends I made when I moved out to Ridgecrest. As a child, I remember going out back to swing on the tire swing, hopping across to the corn field to tell spooky stories and play games in, and I distinctly remember admiring the roses planted on the corner of the house. All of these memories came back when I went to their beautiful house for her bridals 🙂 After she rocked the session, we hugged and she made the comment to me about how much better these photos would be given the meaning behind them, and I just smiled and agreed. Everything really does happens for a reason.
