Molly goes to the beach!

I’ve been imagining Molly’s first time walking onto a sandy beach or getting creamed by a crazy wave… Wondering if she’d love it or hate it. When my clients asked me to meet them at the beach for their engagement photos, I figured it’d be the perfect opportunity to bring Molly too and show up a little early and see how she’d be. We hooked up her harness, walked along the ramp to the beach, and then BAM. The sand. Molly stopped dead in her tracks as a father was walking with his daughter back from the beach began commentating for her…
“OH GOD. WHAT IS THIS. IT’S EVERYWHERE.” – that kind of commentating. And it was spot on. She refused to walk for the longest time until we kinda forced her into it. As we walked along the beach, she was freaking out at all the people and dogs. And then we walked down to the waves. She’s experiences baths before… the pond a couple of times… but this totally caught her off guard. She walked all happy-go-lucky out there, I’m sure she was smiling, and then SMACK. She took it like a champ though. Now, if you own a dog, you know that when they get wet they like to rub all over everything they can to dry off. What’s the only thing around when at the beach and you get wet by the ocean? Sand. She took to tossing about all over the place, and I’m fairly certain we brought half the beach back in the car with us thanks to her.
After the session ended, the perfect Lion King moment happened. The look on her face? Priceless.
